I believe that coaching and personal development must be accessible to all. Whilst there is only one of me, and only a certain number of hours in the day, when I created The Balance Collective, I knew that I had technology on my side. I set an intention to make sure that you can access tools, techniques and support through my website, should you not be in a position to work with me (or others) as a coach. So, today I want to show you how to self-coach, using this website, to create a career to enjoy.
Firstly, let’s get clear on what coaching is. A coach is a person who works with you to achieve your goals, quicker together than you would do on your own! They don’t tell you what to do, they don’t tell you what not to do. They simply ask questions that delve deep into your beliefs, your values and your plans to enable you to find the next step. They offer you accountability and someone to share your successes with!
Now, if you aren’t in a position to access a Coach there is still a massive benefit from working through self-reflection tools, to enable you to create some solid action plans to forward. This approach is not a replacement for the impact of working with a qualified coach, but it is a great start to get you thinking about yourself, your options and your opportunities!
I’ve briefly covered this concept before, where I discussed how to reach your goals when you can’t afford a coach .. yet! So, I’m assuming that you have worked on these areas, and are now looking for the next step in your personal development journey? You may be a fan of a personal development book, even choosing your next title using the books I review every month. But now it’s time to step things up a little more.
What you need will change dependent on your stage in life. You may be returning to work after parental leave, looking to go back to work after a career pause, developing your career confidence, improving your balance or searching for your next job. All of these are areas that I work with my 1:1 clients, so I wanted to highlight the best tools and techniques I have shared on my website.
