It seemed poetic to open this month’s “what’s on” blog with the author of last week’s Book Review!
When I think of February, I think of more …
More light, more life
More hope, more faith
Nature has no fear
That spring will return
That better days beckon
And neither must we …
Donna Ashworth, Words to Live By
February is a short month, and shorter for me, as it’s half term (“ALREADY” I hear you cry!)
So, this is a back-to-basics month starting with:
- Book Review: Pace Yourself (How to have energy in an exhausting world) by Amy Arthur.
The review will be published on the 19th Feb on my site. If you would like to join in, then here is my BookShop Affiliate link. It’s available in hardback, paperback and e-book also.
“In these times of unprecedented stress, burnout, mental exhaustion, depression and fatigue Pace Yourself offers a powerful lifeline in the form of pacing, a simple, science-based tool, to help restore joy, energy and balance in our lives.
Written by Amy Arthur, an award-winning writer and science journalist, Arthur shares not just the science of pacing and how it works, but also shows how to use pacing in our daily lives to thrive, not just survive. She also shares her own pacing journey, explaining how it helped her manage the chronic, energy-limiting condition called ME that she was diagnosed with as a teenager.
Unpacking all aspects of personal energy and how we make, spend and save it, Arthur will help readers go from tired-all-the-time to focused and energised by prioritising what matters and adopting energy-building habits and lifestyle hacks – all with the help of pacing.
Why burn out when you can pace yourself and live a successful, fulfilling life?”
- Ask Me Anything, Q &A Session
This month, the theme is balance; balance in life, work … anything that connects you to this, the scope is very wide. As always, my work is about helping you create a career to enjoy. I will be answering the question(s) LIVE in the Facebook Group on Monday, 23rd Feb, between 11:30 and 12:00. As usual, on the Thursday of that week, it will be written up as a blog. You can email me at hello@thebalancecollective.co.uk with your question.
